Again this summer the B Street Theatre Conservatory and Pompaneous Studio
will team up to offer two acting camps this summer. Students will learn
in a fun,
exciting, and creative environment from professional instructors who
are active in the fields of theatre, film, improvisation, and acting
instruction. Each camp will last two weeks and be lead by B Street regular
Kurt Johnson.
Young performers will experience acting, improv, the rehearsal process,
and a final showcase production where they can show off everything they

Acting &Play
Creation
(Ages 8-12)
The Summer Drama Class is for young actors ages 8-12 and not only teaches the
basics of acting and rehearsal techniques, but allows for kids to get a glimpse
into the world of the playwright as well. With a classic piece of literature
as a model students play improv and creative theatre games, brainstorm, and discuss
their ideas until an outline for a completely original play is formed. The instructor
types this up into script form and the rest of the workshop is spent in rehearsal.
The process is complete when a final showcase production is performed for friends
and family. It's a blast. The Summer Drama Class will take place in the evening
and provides a convenient alternative for those that might have trouble attending
a daytime summer camp.
