Whether you are an actor looking to brush up on
a valuable skill or someone who just wants to play and have fun improv
is the class for
you. Improv helps to develop creativity, concentration, spontaneity,
quick thinking and self-confidence. For the actor improv is an extremely
useful tool in audition and rehearsal situations. It also helps in
those rare but sometimes intense situations when someone drops a line
or forgets a prop backstage. And because Improv teaches other valuable
skills (ie. story telling, cooperation, status, staying positive, listening,
and focus) its just as useful for writers, directors, teachers, parents,
bosses, sales people, public speakers, or just about anyone. Class
has regular showcase performances at the B Street Theatre on Tuesday
nights!! Come and play!

Utilizing scripted material, members of the Scene Study for Adults class
will learn and practice methods of scene analysis, character development,
rehearsal techniques, blocking, and much more. Actors work with partners
to develop short scenes through rehearsal and analysis.
